03 Algerian films at 9th Arab Film Festival of Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM (The Netherlands)- Algerian cinema is taking part, with three productions, in the 9th edition of the Arab Film Festival being held in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) since June 10, and which will run until Sunday, a diplomatic source said on Saturday.

• The Algerian participating films are "Mascarades" (farces), by filmmaker Lyes Salem, "Mel Watni," by Fatima Belhadj and "L'envers du miroir" (The Other Side of the Miroir), by Nadia Cherabi, the source said.

• Algerian director Amor Hakkar, maker of a film entitled "La Maison Jaune" (The Yellow House), which won the ecumenical panel of judges' award, youth award and the award of the international federation of film societies at the festival of Locarno in 2007, is attending Rotterdam's event as member of the second panel of judges (feature-length films).
