- ALGIERS- Forty years after, Algiers will play host to the second Pan-African Cultural Festival, from 5 to 20 July, in a new historical and political context marked by the efforts for development and the willingness of addressing internal crises in the continent.
- Indeed, Algiers regains its status of capital of the African culture. In 1969, it had hosted the first edition of Panaf in the then conditions characterized by the struggle of national liberation movements aspiring for independence and emancipation from the yoke of colonialism.
