  • The Moroccan Ministry of Communication has ordered Friday the immediate withdrawal from the national market of the monthly “Israel Magazine,” whose distribution was achieved for the first time by a Moroccan company, according to an official sources in Rabat Monday.

“The Department of Communication has ordered the withdrawal after being informed that a Moroccan distribution company, the “Sochepress” unlawfully operated the import and marketing of this publication, said a source close to this ministry.

“Usually, the marketing of a foreign publication must first be submitted for advice and consent of the Department of Communication, things that have not been made by the distribution company,” said this source.

“The company Sochepress failed in its commitments. It is fully accountable for their actions and we have convened its leaders at the Ministry's to explain this matter,” indicated the same source.

AFP tried unsuccessfully to reach the Director General of Sochepress, the French Thierry Sabouret.

Last weekend, the Arabic daily “Al Massae” revealed the presence and sales in 101 libraries of the issue of the Israeli magazine, dated July 2009 and at a price of 25 Dirhams (2.3 Euros).
