WASHINGTON - The United States is working to introduce sanctions against Iran "this month" at the UN, said on Sunday National security adviser for President Barack Obama, General James Jones.

  •    "I think the Iranians need to think carefully about how they act," warned the senior adviser on Fox channel, while Tehran on Tuesday launched the production of uranium enriched to 20%, despite protests from Western countries.

  •    Mr Jones said that the United States benefit on the subject of a "huge support", acknowledging that he had "a little more work with China" but that the Chinese could "not withhold their support," since they want to play a "responsible" role within the international community.

  •    Western powers suspect Tehran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons under cover of its civilian program, which Tehran denies.
