"Le Jeune Independent" celebrates its 20th anniversary
ALGIERS - The dean of private newspapers in Algeria, Le Jeune Independent, Sunday celebrated its 20th anniversary with "an ant’s work patiently accomplished," wrote the editorial director and founding member Amine Alouache.
- "Twenty years after its birth, the title has not aged nor has openly aligned," he says.
- "Our newspaper loops 20 years of challenges. The first was to clear a blank field in the 1990’s which marked the advent of private and independent press in Algeria until these other challenges as it continued to appear regularly and without changing line despite financial difficulties, "wrote on his side Nordine Mzelle in an editorial.
- The daily currently draws 41,000 copies of which 23,000 for the center of the country, said Alouache.
- "My goal remains the sustainability of the newspaper, thanks to its team as part of freedom disappears when a newspaper dies," he said. The Algerian press has about 80 daily national newspapers.
