The Secretary General of OPEC to visit Algeria on Saturday

The Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Abdellah El Badri will make from Saturday a working visit of several days in Algeria, announced Wednesday the Algerian Ministry of Energy.

•     During his stay, Mr. El Badri, who will be accompanied by a large delegation of the secretariat of OPEC, will have talks with the Algerian Minister of Energy Chakib Khelil on the evolution of the oil market, said the ministry in a statement.
  
      On 8 April, Mr. Khelil has said that OPEC should maintain its production quota at its meeting on 28 May in Vienna, in case the global economy hit by the crisis, recovers.
  
      The cartel, which pumps 40% of global oil, had maintained on March 15 its target production ceiling at 24.84 million barrels per day (MBJ).
