Maghreb countries: Creation of a common economic space

The creation of the Maghreb Employers Union (UME) ''shows the willingness of the economic operators of the Maghreb countries to establish a sound common economic space,'' said Tuesday here Boualem M'rakach, founding member of the UME.

• Speaking at a pres conference held in anticipation of the first Maghreb Businessmen Forum (10-11 May in Algiers), M'rakach, who is also chairman of Algerian Employers Confederation (CAP), pointed out that the creation of the Union, which is the first of its kind, meets "the vital need" of achieving the integration of the region's economies.
