Emerging countries: The 2nd Summit will take place in April in Brasilia
BRASILIA - The big emerging countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China), whose ambition to gain influence on the world stage, will hold their second summit on April 16 in Brasilia, said Wednesday Brazilian presidency source.
- The leaders of this informal group met in summit for the first time last June in Ekaterinburg, Russia. They were then warned against the dominance of the dollar as global reserve currency.
According to the newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo, Chinese President Hu Jintao continues his stay in Brazil for an official visit.
On 15 April, the Brazilian capital will also host another mini-summit( Brazil, India and South Africa) with the objective for these countries of the South to cooperate more closely on political and commercial issues, according to a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
