Vehicles equipped with LPG system exempt from payment of toll

Algiers- vehicles equiped with LPG system, fuel for automobiles, will now be exempt from payment of car toll, in order to encourage the use of this system, after noting the lack of interest on the part of motorists for this kind of fuel.
- The Government has therefore made the proposal to exempt vehicles with the system in question from payment of road tax to prepare local traders and preserve the environment, and also to expand the use of such fuel by encouraging motorists.
- Moreover, the government decided to exempt materials and services provided under the plan of research activities, exploitation and transportation of liquefied gas, processing and use by the activities indicated with VAT. The same tax on the VAT will be applied for the acquisition of boat for the benefit of shipping companies, which are exempt from VAT. This decision will reduce significantly the budget of the companies activating in the maritime field without reducing the value for the public treasury. Especially since this tax, which has an encouraging effect for foreign shipping companies, and collect tax revenue to the public treasury by taxing the profits of these shipping companies.
