Lagarde takes office at the IMF
WASHINGTON - The new Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde took office Tuesday, and will earn 551,700 dollars a year, announced the institution.
- Lagarde arrived at 9:00 pm (1:00 GMT) at IMF headquarters in Washington, noted journalists from AFP.
- The IMF released its employment contract, which provides a base salary of 467,940 dollars per year and an allowance for expenses (without proof) of 83,760 dollars a year, a total of 551,700 dollars.
- At the current exchange rate, this represents approximately 31,700 Euros per month.
