DA 435 billion in foreign investment since the beginning of the year
ALGIERS - In the first half of the current year, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Algeria reached AD 435 billion, according to Abdelkrim Mansouri, General Manager of ANDI (National Agency for Investment).

- For the Director of ANDI, this level of investment (FDI: foreign direct investment) has never been recorded. Foreign investments recorded a net increase. These relate to areas such as food processing, building materials and medicine in addition to many industrial activities.
- These investments must be in harmony with the development policy of the country, our interlocutor said, before added that Algeria is an open country, but who wants to receive direct investments that create jobs, integrate the national economy and ensure technology transfer.
- For their part, domestic investment also saw an important rise. Some 4,000 projects have been launched by Algerians in the first six months of 2011, an increase of 33% compared to the same period of 2010.
