20% increase in national minimum wage, Ouyahia says
Algiers - The national minimum wage (SNMG) increased by 20% after rising 30% in December 2009, said Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia to the press after the meeting of the tripartite between the government, the union (UGTA) and employers.

- The meeting of the tripartite took place Thursday in Algiers between the government, represented by the Prime Minister and five ministers, employers' organizations and the UGTA (General Union of Algerian Workers. Independent unions were not invited to this meeting.
- The agenda of the tripartite consisted of increasing the national minimum wage guaranteed (SNMG), protection of domestic production, issue of pensions and evaluation of measures agreed at the last tripartite.
