The 2011 Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded Monday to two Americans researchers for their works in macroeconomics. This is Thomas Sargent and Christopher Sims, university teachers.

    The two researchers, who have devoted their lives to macro-economy, were recognized for their research on the cause and effect in macro-economy, according to the committee.

    The two winners are university professors. T. Sargent teaches at the University of New York and C. Sims at Princeton University in Washington. They have developed methods to answer questions on the casual links between political and economic as well as various macroeconomic variables such as GDP, inflation, employment and investment.
