Algiers- the government has accepted a revaluation of the retirees’ pension at a rate of 15 to 40%, applicable from the current month. Retirees will benefit from an increase in their pensions between eight and ten thousand dinars (DA 8-10000).

  • In this sense, the government will decide in the coming days on the budget allocated specifically for this segment of society, after approving the 40% rate of increase in pensions, under exceptional measure relating to the revaluation pensions, announced in the last tripartite held in late September. These increases will apply during the month of May.
  • The chargé of litigation at the Trade Union (UGTA), Mr. Achour Telli, in an interview with Ennahar, said that increases in pensions will be in the range of 8000 dinars for retirees who receive a pension of more than 11,000 dinars and 10,000 dinars for those receiving a pension of more than 20,000 dinars.
  • According to Mr. Telli, the government has decided to implement the proposals of the trade union, presented at the Tripartite 29/30 September, on the revaluation of pensions at 100% of the national minimum wage (SNMG) instead of the current 75%; estimated at 11,250 dinars, exemption from income tax on total income (IRG) for the pensions of 15,000 dinars and updating of the housewife pension.
