Algiers- the government has decided to opt for bidding in the awarding of new agricultural cooperatives, announced by the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the meeting of Cabinet in February last, for the benefit of investors in the agricultural sector who will benefit from state support up to 100 million centimes per hectare.

- According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Ahmed Ferroukhi, in a statement yesterday to Ennahar, in response to a question about the new decisions concerning agricultural cooperatives, these will be subject to a thorough by the various agricultural province’s services, for the definition of agricultural land that will serve as co-operatives before the announcement of tenders for investors willing to invest in agriculture.
- In this sense, and according to sources close to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, following the publication of tenders relating to agricultural land intended for new agricultural cooperatives in the various municipalities, young people wishing to have a cooperative must present their project to the municipality of residence which will forward it to the province Agricultural Committee. After approval, this latter sends it to the office of agricultural which studies the project. Once the study is completed and the project is approved, it is forwarded to the National agricultural land which will proceed in its turn to prepare documents for the concession, before sending the file to the bank for the obtaining of financing.
