- the first ten months of the current year, Algeria has recorded a surplus of 21.43 billion dollars against 14.50 billion dollars over the same period in 2010, announced Monday the Algerian customs.
- Exports reached 60.59 billion dollars against 47.82 billion for the same period, an increase of nearly 27%, according to provisional figures from the National Centre for Informatics and Statistics of Algerian Customs (CNIS).
- For imports, they were established at $ 39.16 billion against $ 33.31 billion during the same period in 2010, showing an increase of 17.54%.
- For the CNIS, these figures are explained by the increase of over 26% of exports of oil and the proper maintenance of oil prices during the period of the year.
- Note that hydrocarbons retain much of the share with 97.21%, or 58.90 billion during the first ten months of 2011. The non-hydrocarbon exports totalled 1.69 billion dollars for the same period, i.e. 2.79% of the total volume of exports, including semi-products and foodstuffs.
