Algeria-United Kingdom: New era of trade

Algiers - Trade between Algeria and the United Kingdom registered a "quantum leap", reaching in less than a year nearly $ 2.5 billion, said Sunday in Algiers, the minister responsible for the Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
- "Trade exchanges have registered a quantum leap, reaching in less than a year about $ 2.5 billion," said Messahel after a meeting with Lord Howell of Guildford, Minister for Trade and energy at the UK Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Messahel said Lord Howell will meet during his visit with Algerian Ministers of Commerce, Energy and Mines as well as that of Industry.
British exports to Algeria have more than doubled over the past five years, according to the British diplomatic mission.
Britain invested 115 million euros in Algeria in 2008. It is one of the largest investors in this country and is present, particularly in the oil and gas sectors. - Ennaharonline/ M. O.
