Sonatrach: New gas discovery

The Algerian oil and gas group Sonatrach announced Monday the discovery in Algeria of a new gas field in partnership with the consortium Repsol Exploration SA / RWE Dea AG / Edison International.

•     This discovery was made in the Ahnet basin, located west of In Salah in the Sahara, Sonatrach said in a press release stating that the estimated production drilling is expected to reach 15,125 m3 of gas per hour.
  
      Since the beginning of the year, Sonatrach has recorded six discoveries of hydrocarbons.
  
       In late January, Sonatrach and the Spanish company Repsol announced the discovery of three gas fields in the Illizi basin (extreme south-east) with a potential production of one million m3/day.
