YouTube opens a page of training for journalists
WASHINGTON- The website for sharing videos YouTube Monday opened a page dedicated to training in journalism, with the participation of some of the biggest names in the profession in the United States.
- The “reporters’ centre” hosts several courses on video, with various topics such as investigative journalism, citizen journalism, ethics of the profession or technique of the interview.
Bob Woodward, the Washington Post reporter made famous by the Watergate investigation that ended the presidency of Richard Nixon, presents the video on investigative journalism.
It is the presenter of CBS Katie Couric who gives her tips for interviews, while Ariana Huffington, co-founder and editor of the news site Huffington Post, talks about “citizen journalism.”
An editorialist from the New York Times, Nicholas Kristof, gives advice to those who want to cover war zones to “avoid being shot.”
Other sessions provide advice for “enter information when they go on your mobile phone” or “to build an audience on YouTube.”
The site, owned by Google, invites its users also journalists to upload their own videos to teach their skills to others and “share (their) knowledge with journalists-citizens of the world.”
