India: 22 policemen killed by Maoists
NEW DELHI- Twenty-two Indian policemen have been killed by Maoist rebels in an ambush in eastern India, said a senior police officer Sunday.
- The attack took place in the district Rajnandangaon, 90 km from Raipur, the capital of the State of Chhattisgarh, declared the inspector Pawan Dev.
Two policemen on patrol were killed by guerrillas who ambushed the 20 other dispatched on the spot, according to the same source.
“Reportedly, 22 police officers were killed in the attack,” said this person.
