JERUSALEM- An Egyptian border guards opened fire Monday on Israeli soldiers stationed at the border

• An Egyptian border guards opened fire Monday on Israeli soldiers stationed at the border, about twenty kilometres north of the seaside resort of Eilat on the Red Sea, according to the Israeli military radio Monday.
  
      The soldiers returned fire, wounding the shooter, according to the same source.
  
      Following this incident the road along the Israeli border was closed to traffic.
