Abbas denounces repression against a Salafist group

RAMALLAH (West Bank) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Monday denounced the repression he considered "atrocious and inhumane" by the Islamist movement Hamas in Ghaza of a Salafist group.

•     "The method used by Hamas is atrocious and inhumane. I do not know this small group but I think that is an offshoot of Hamas," said Abbas in chairing the weekly meeting of the Palestinian government in Ramallah (West Bank).
  
      Hamas, which controls the Ghaza Strip since June 2007 after having dislodged the Palestinian Authority of Mahmoud Abbas, has crashed in the night from Friday to Saturday a small group called “Jund Ansar Allah” radical Islamist (Soldiers of God Partisan ") that challenged its authority. The clashes in Rafah, southern Ghaza Strip, made 24 dead.
