RABAT- Dozens of protesters in Rabat Wednesday accused the Norwegian government of having "kidnapped" in Morocco in July, two children of former Moroccan athletics champion, Khalid Skah, the press reported.

  •     Gathered near the Norwegian Embassy in Rabat, the demonstrators chanted hostile slogans to the Norwegian Government and demanded the return in their country Morocco of "Tarik and Salma Skah, aged respectivly13 and 16.

Waving Moroccan flags, they carried banners and a portrait of the Norwegian Ambassador in Morocco Bjorn Olav Blokhus, accused the demonstrators of having "kidnapped" on the night of 18 to 19 July in Rabat, the two children.

On two banners that read: "Morocco and Moroccans reject the fait accompli and asked the Norwegian government to shoulder its responsibility in the kidnapping" or "the scandal of the Norwegian Government, the truth must come out."

"The Norwegian government must return the children to their country, the only solution to this crime," said Khalid Skah, tears in their eyes, stating his intention to refer the matter to international organizations.

Skah assured that Morocco has "evidence involving the embassy in the abduction. These pieces of evidence will help us before international justice."

The Moroccan government also accuses the Norwegian Embassy to have "kidnapped" children and have helped Anne Cecilie Hopstock, Norwegian mother, to ex-filtrate them from Morocco.

Norway has denied having played a role in the "kidnapping" of the two children.

Khalid Skah, 10,000 meters Olympic champion in Barcelona in 1992 and his former wife fight for custody of Tarik and Selma who both have dual Norwegian-Moroccan nationality.

Tarik and Selma lived with their father in Rabat since 2006 while their mother separated from Skah today, had left in a "voluntary" manner Morocco in 2007 to settle in Norway.

There seem to be a clear lack of knowledge here on your part.
Not to forget that the children are citizens of Norway, and that the mother was awarded the legal custody of the children.
Therefore we can speak about a re-napping instead of kid-napping. The children where abducted/ withheld from the courts and country of Norway.

Also, you could have noticed, with improved reading skills, that the Norwegian government was not involved in the incident other then to host its OWN citizens at the embassy.
