RABAT, King Mohammed VI of Morocco has been placed in recovering five days for an "infection" which has "no concerns about his health," said Wednesday the royal palace.

  •     "His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has a rotavirus infection with digestive symptoms and severe dehydration requiring five days of convalescence," said a statement signed by Dr. Abdulaziz Maaouni, personal physician of the king and director of the clinical royal palace.

"The health of His Majesty the King does not warrant any concern," the same source added.

According to corroborating sources, this the first time a royal palace statement announces sovereign's recovery since his induction in July 1999.

Moreover, according to these sources, King Mohammed VI was expected to visit earlier this week Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, to preside over religious lectures to mark the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

During this summer, the King of Morocco, who celebrated August 20th his 46th birthday in Tetouan (north), had a very busy program of activities. He had visited several cities in the north such as Oujda, Nador and Al Hoceima, where he launched many socio-economic projects.
