RABAT - Two people died following heavy rains that fell Wednesday and Thursday on the east and south of Morocco, also causing the collapse of several houses and numerous traffic accidents, according to local authorities.

  •     On Thursday, a child and a young man drowned in a waterhole in the rural town of Tagounit in the region of Zagoura (south).

In addition, three people were still missing in the province of Errachida (south) after being swept away by flood waters Thursday.

These storms, which hit several parts of the neighbouring Algeria’s south and the highlands regions have caused many accidents.

According to the national weather office, rain, which does not spare the Atlantic coast of Morocco, should continue until the end of the week.
