Pakistan: Five Americans accused of "terrorist links"
Sargodha (Pakistan) - Five young American, arrested in Pakistan in December for having tried to get in touch with the Islamist extremists linked to Al Qaeda, were charged Wednesday by a court with of "links with terrorism" in particular, has announced their lawyer.
- "The charges were served on all defendants, all are in relation with a terrorist organization and they could face life in prison," said Shahid Kamal, the defense counsel at the end of Hearing of anti-terrorist court of Sargodha in central Pakistan.
The five young Americans, of Pakistani, Ethiopian, Eritrean and Egyptian origins, had fled their families in the United States and were arrested in early December in Sargodha.
