Saudi: Riyadh under a sandstorm
RIYADH - Riyadh, the Saudi capital, was Friday under a severe sandstorm, which drastically reduced visibility and traffic, according to Saudi television “Ekhbariya.”
- A police officer, Commander Ali Gahtani, cited by television, has advised residents not to travel in the capital and those who go there to wait out the storm to enter.
He mentioned one incident: the five-car collision with a slight injury.
Residents said that air traffic was disrupted at Riyadh International Airport because of the storm, according to state television Ekhbariya.
The storm is a usual phenomenon in the country in this season.
