France: strikes cost between 200 and 400 million EUR per day
PARIS - French Economy Minister Christine Lagarde argued Monday that the cost of strikes against the unpopular pension reform could be valued at "between 200 and 400 million euros per day."
- The invoice for the French economy is estimated by "some (...) between 200 and 400 million euros a day," she told Europe 1 radio, but stressed that the cost was "difficult to quantify".
- The minister also spoke of a "moral damages" to France, her image is, she says, altered abroad by the incidents that marred the protests against pension reform.
