Chad: the interior minister wounded in an assassination attempt

The Chadian Minister of Interior and Public Security, Ahmed Mohamed-Bashir, was shot in an assassination attempt Friday night in N'djamena, but his days are not in danger, according to the police and his entourage.

•     The minister was leaving a dinner at a hotel in the capital when a man fired at him, wounding him in his thigh, said a police under cover of anonymity.
  
      Mohamed Bashir was taken to hospital and is out of danger, according to his entourage, according to whom there is “no history” between the minister and his assailant.
  
      The attacker, described as a tax official, was arrested Friday evening by police and was detained Saturday in a police station, said police sources, indicating ignore motive for his actions.
