Abbas/Meshaal meeting June 21 to finalize the government

CAIRO - Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal will meet June 21 in Cairo to "finalize the formation of a government" of independents, said Tuesday at a Palestinian official.
- "It was agreed today, at the meeting between delegations from Fatah and Hamas, in telephone consultation with President Abbas and Mr Meshaal, a meeting to finalize the formation of the government next Tuesday," said Azzam al-Ahmad, who leads the Fatah delegation to talks with Hamas in Cairo.
- "It was also decided that the meeting would be the last to conclude the issue of "transitional independent government under the reconciliation agreement reached April 27 in Cairo between the two movements," said Ahmad.
- Delegations from Fatah and Hamas, led by number two in the politburo of the Islamist movement, Moussa Abu Marzouk, met Tuesday at the headquarters of Egyptian intelligence.
