- The Ennahda party, winner of Sunday's election, informed its partners of its intention to nominate the party's No. 2 Mr. Hammadi Jebali, as Prime Minister, according to a statement by Mr. Bhiri.
- Mr. Hammadi Jebali, 62, is a former journalist, engineer, and a co-founder of the Ennahda party. He spent fifteen years in prison for his opposition to the regime of former President Ben Ali.
