The Kuwaiti government has submitted its resignation Monday to the Emir Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, following pressure from the opposition which demanded its dismissal for corruption cases.

The resignation comes just before an event that was to be held Monday night at the call of the opposition which has claimed the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammed al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. MPs wanted to question him about allegations of corruption.
The emir accepted the resignation of the Government and shall designate a new prime minister before the dissolution of parliament, according to an opposition MP.
