- The guards stopped the bomber, dressed as a soldier, before he can enter the military building, so he detonated a bomb he was carrying, according to an official of the Somali security sector. The bomber was killed instantly together with two other people, while two others succumbed later to their injuries.
- The attack had occurred near a military base in central Mogadishu, the scene of a series of attacks in recent weeks.
- According to an eyewitness, the bomber dressed as military, had tried to enter the building but was stopped by the guards, shortly later a powerful explosion was heard.
