Kuwait: a new Prime minister appointed
The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, appointed Wednesday Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah as Prime Minister, according o public television. The latter served as defence minister before.

- The Emir issued a decree by which he appointed Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah as Prime Minister, announced on television. He succeeds Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who was forced to resign Monday under pressure from the opposition, which accuses him of corruption.
- Sheikh Jaber, 69, a member of the ruling family, was appointed by the emir to form a government. The latter, according to an opposition MP, will be a transitional cabinet to hold early parliamentary elections after the dissolution of Parliament.
- Early elections will be organized, conformably to the law, within two months of the dissolution of Parliament.
