- AQIM is responsible for the kidnapping of the two French nationals in November in Hombori, this source said, adding that the men of Abdelkrim Taleb, head of a branch of AQIM, have conducted the abduction.
- The operation was conducted by the terrorist organization of AQIM who wants to seize the Sahara, the source said Mali.
- Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) has not yet claimed responsibility for this kidnapping nearly two weeks after the abduction.
