  • This Friday, no less than ten civilians, including a woman and four children, were killed by fire from security forces in Homs in central Syria, according to a report of the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (OSDH) and the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.

Three children aged 10 and 12 and 14 and three adults were killed by fire from security forces in several districts of Homs on Friday, while a score of protesters were arrested by the security forces in the town of Hula, in the same province.

The Syrian National Council (CNS), which brought together the main currents of the opposition, fears a resurgence of repression by the regime, which, would be preparing to commit a "massacre in Homs," scene of indiscriminate repression since several weeks.

Victims are deplored in several other regions such as Hama, Deraa, where a woman and a girl were killed, and Douma, where security forces fired on civilians causing casualties, wounded and arrested demonstrators.

Syrian Observatory of Human Rights has also reported clashes between security forces and groups of deserters in Duma.
