Guantanamo: France will host the Algerian Lakhdar Boumediene
France will host Lakhdar Boumediene, an Algerian detained in Guantanamo for seven years and exonerated by the U.S. federal court in November, according to Washington sources.
- "The transfer could take place within the next ten days," said a source close to the file who has requested anonymity.
A U.S. official confirmed that it was Mr. Boumediene that France was ready to host.
