The results of swine influenza in Mexico has risen to 42 victims, many of which recently died, and a thousand patients, said Wednesday the Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova.

  •     The new counting, which was burdened with 13 deaths, now makes 1070 cases of infection against 913 the day before in Mexico, the epicentre of global influenza A H1N1.

The highest peak of the epidemic is between 25 and 26 April, with seven deaths, said Cordova, at a press conference.

Two of the victims died last Tuesday and three others between 1 and May 3

Twenty-four of the victims are women and 18 men, has said the minister, stressing that the majority of the dead were aged 20 to 39 years.

Mr. Cordova has reported Tuesday evening that there were still forty suspected cases of people died in recent days to analyse.

The swine flu has spread in more than twenty countries around the world. Mexico is the most affected by the epidemic, followed by the United States, the only other nation with two deaths.
