Algeria: 35.1 million inhabitants on 1st January 2009

Algeria counts 35.1 million inhabitants on 1st January 2009, according to the data provided Tuesday by the National Office of Statistics (ONS).

• It would reach on 1st January 2010, 35.7 million in habitants, ONS predicted. The demographic count, resulted in the exploitation of digital slips of civil status showed the registration of 817,000 living births, 331,000 weddings and 153,000 deaths in 2008, the same source added.
