Algeria/ China: A strategic Partnership

The Chinese Ambassador in Algeria Liu Yuhe, said yesterday evening that his country seeks to strengthen its cooperation with Algeria and implement a strategic partnership with major projects underway in Algeria.

  • The ambassador said, on the sidelines of his visit to Sétif to meet with Chinese workers in the wilaya, that "Algeria is a reliable partner of China, and we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the relations between our two countries." "Relations between our two countries are on the track and are constantly improving. Materialized by the political confidence of the leaders of the two countries. " Before adding "China aims to develop trade and cultural relations with Algeria."

  • The wilaya of Setif, which is the second wilaya in terms of population, is of great interest for China for the potential it has. "China aims to strengthen cultural relations with the wilaya where it intends to carry out a large stadium. Regarding the proposed car manufacturing plant, Liu Yuhe responds that there is a Chinese group interested in conducting a car manufacturing plant in Sétif.

  • The Ambassador met the Chinese community in the wilaya of Setif, including the group of Chinese doctors working at the universitary hospital of Sétif. He also visited the Chinese workers at the base of the third university. Mr Liu Yuhe first met the head of the wilaya. This latter assured his host that the desire of the wilaya is to benefit from the Chinese experience, in particular as regards to the speed and quality.

Well! Sounds interesting! The chinese aas always are very ambitious to carry out projects and make tons of money; however, the algerians, overall have the tendency to only consume and be served. If algerians don't take seriously the fact that they must consider developping their know-how and step up their efforts to become a developped country that China was not a couple of decades ago, they're in a great pickle.
