16 terrorists sentenced to death, eight to life imprisonment in absentia

Sixteen armed terrorists were sentenced in absentia to death and eight others to life imprisonment on Monday by the Criminal Court of Boumerdes, 50 km east of Algiers, for terrorism, according to the press agency APS.

•     These terrorists who activate in the region of Boumerdes, were convicted for "membership in an armed terrorist group and destruction of public property with explosives," said the agency.
  
      The same court sentenced eight armed terrorists from various regions of Boumerdes to life imprisonment in absentia for "belonging to an armed terrorist group armed and robbery."
  
      Another terrorist, Dj. Omar was sentenced to five years in prison for "glorification of terrorism and concealing information," said APS.
  
      Since early May, some fifty terrorists were sentenced by the court to prison or to death in absentia for various acts of terrorism.
