Said Barkat: Two suspected cases of swine influenza in Algeria

The Minister of Health and Hospital Reform, Said Barkat has, in a statement, reported two suspected cases of swine influenza in Algeria. The first one is an Algerian who made a trip to Spain while the second is an Ukrainian with the clinical symptoms of influenza. The latter had left the country after 24 hours.

• Minister Barkat said at the presentation of the government's plan at the parliament, that the tests on the two suspected cases were negative, adding that the ministry has allocated 9 billion dinars to deal with influenza swine to protect the country, stating that the means of Algeria exceed those provided by the World Health Organization.
  
  On the other hand, the first head of the sector said that all personalities, including diplomats who enter Algeria, should undergo medical checks and are subject to the provisions and formalities necessary for prevention. He added that it will be proceeded to the creation of 689 health facilities and laboratories in the coming days. Six new statutes in Sector on the 14 ones about the health sector will be subject to the civil service shortly.
  
  Noting that Ibn Rushd hospital proceeded to the isolation of the Ukrainian national suspected of having swine influenza, following a circular from the Ministry of Health and Hospital Reform since May 7 run. The latter emphasizes the need to strengthen health checks at borders, ports and airports.
  
  MPs also asked the government to hasten the establishment of health facilities included in the plan of government and equipping them with necessary medical equipment and competent physicians and specialists.
