Government...s plan of action adopted in Parliament

The members of the People's National Assembly (Parliament) voted Monday, by show of hands and with a majority, for the government's plan of action presented last Thursday, before the MPs, by Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

  • More than 200 deputies spoke over the five days preceding Ouyahia replies, on Monday, to their interrogations and observations. By virtue of the new provisions of the reviewed Constitution, the prime minister presented last Tuesday, at the people's National Assembly, the five-year plan of action, aimed at the implementation of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika's the programme.

  • A new long-term investment programme, provided with USD 150 billion, will be developed this year and "should be well studied for a sectoral and spatial distribution of projects" to which President Bouteflika is committed. It will be announced at the "appropriate time" by President Bouteflika, "then reflected through the annual financial bills" to be submitted to the People's National Assembly.
