Hamas prevents an Israeli unit from entering Gaza

The armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic movement ...Hamas... has claimed to have repulsed an incursion last Saturday conducted by members of the Israeli special forces who tryied to cross the border with the Gaza Strip.

•     A spokesman of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades told the AFP that the fighters had found an unspecified number of members of the Israeli special forces trying to penetrate the border area of Shijaiyah in the east of the Gaza Strip, at 1 am local (23:00 GMT Friday).
  
      Hamas fighters had fired six mortar against Israelis who responded with light weapons before they retreat, he said, adding that no casualties have been registered.
  
      A spokesman of the Israeli army said he could not comment on these statements immediately.
