A device to prevent forest fires

A device to prevent and fight forest fires for the year 2009 has been set by the General Directorate of Forests (DGF) and will be discussed Wednesday at a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, according to the DGF.

•  The device concerns 40 Departments of the country, based on awareness, prevention, intervention and organization. At the level of awareness, the services concerned planned the organisation of 167 conferences and debates in schools and cultural institutions, organization of 79 exhibitions and open days on the forest as well as 942 neighbourhood meetings with the populations, in addition to participating in 5 television programmes, according to the same source.
