The policemen have saved innocent students from a bomb placed by the terrorists near their school. The two education officials; Khellasi Messaoud from Chekfa (Jijel) and Baghdadi Abderrahmane from Setif, were preparing for pilgrimage this year.

  • Eight Algerian policemen and two education officials were killed Tuesday afternoon in a bomb attack targeting a convoy of vehicles near Timezrit Boumerdès (50 km east of Algiers).

According to witnesses, a bomb was activated remotely on the passage of the convoy at 5:30 pm local time.

The convoy was composed of civilian cars escorted by police and carrying copies of the exams. The explosion was followed by gunfire in the direction of the vehicle, according to local sources.

The police killed in this cowardly attack have saved the lives of innocent students targeted by a bomb lodged near their school.

The elements of the armed terrorist group, according to our sources, planned the attack by placing a bomb in the morning of the same day, near the school in the town of Timzert, in a plastic bag to attract the security forces to this area. The officers of the Mobile Brigade of the Judicial Police of the Issers District moved immediately and managed to dismantle the bomb and ensure the conduct of examinations of the intermediate school throughout the day.

The terrorist group then ambushed the brigade, upon its return at the end of the day, by exploding a bomb followed by shelling in the direction of the vehicle causing the deaths of seven police officers and an eighth was brutally slain. The terrorists then took the dead policemen’s weapons and uniforms.

According to our sources, the terrorists use them in false roadblocks and also in kidnapping citizens in order to ask for ransom.

The ancient elements of the “El Hidjra wa takfir” group would be behind the attack.
