Algeria "disappointed" by the Czech spokesman...s statement

Algeria Monday expressed its "consternation" about the statement by a spokesman for the Czech presidency of the European Union (EU) as "defensive" the Israeli military operation in Gaza before, however, to apologize.

•     "After the unspeakable aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, Algeria notes with dismay the position expressed by the spokesman of Czech in the EU, said Monday a press release of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted by agency APS.
  
      Algeria "deplores" the symptomatic statement, thinking of a "fueled by those who, believing themselves immune to the inexorable trial of history, still confuse between the occupier and the occupied, the aggressor and the victim, the executioner and his innocent victims. "
  
      "Algeria takes this opportunity to associate herself with all the voices in the world, which continue to seek the immediate cessation of this savage aggression and to renew her active and unconditional solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just cause", added the release.
  
      Saturday, a spokesman for the Czech presidency of the EU declared as "defensive" the operation land of Israel in Gaza.
  
      This statement was qualified for the next "big mistake" by the Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, and the spokesman had apologized for a "misunderstanding."
  
      Israel launched on 27 December a deadly air offensive against the Gaza Strip since Saturday evening followed by a ground offensive.
