Droudkal have requested $ 10 million ransom for the liberation of Eden Dyer
Terrorist groups had demanded, in the beginning, the release of Abou Qatada El Filastini (the Palestinian), before asking for a ransom of 10 million dollars for the liberation of the British Eden Dyer.
- The United Kingdom's Ambassador in Algiers, Andrew Henderson, has revealed that the terrorist groups of the organization ‘Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat’ (GSPC), headed by Abou Mosaâb Abdelouadoud, alias Abdelmalek Droukdal, had asked for a ransom for the release of the British Eden Dyer who was killed late last May.
- In a statement to Ennahar on the margins of the international seminar on judicial mediation, which began Monday in Algiers, in the presence of more than 400 mediators and Algerian and foreign judges, said that terrorist groups had demanded the release of the Jordanian cleric Abou Qatada El Filastini, but the British authorities had categorically refused the request. He added that the refusal of British authorities led the organization to review its request and finally decided to ask for a ransom.
- The organization, according to the British ambassador, asked for a ransom of 10 million dollars for the release of Eden Dyer, then this amount was revised down; 7 Million and then $ 6 million. The British authorities have refused to pay the ransom and refused to negotiate in this regard. According to the ambassador, the policy of his country was clear and known by everyone; never agree to negotiate with terrorists whatever losses. "They have tried to negotiate and ask for money but this is not acceptable to us as a state" he said.

- Concerning cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the ambassador has revealed that London is working to intensify its cooperation with Algeria to combat terrorist groups.
- The terrorist organization had kidnapped the British national last January, with a group of tourists from Canada, Switzerland and Germany. Some have been released against ransom estimated at 5 million euros in addition to the release of 4 terrorists including the terrorist Merdaci, while a Swiss national, is still kept hostage by the organization.
