  • The former emir of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), Abu Hamza, alias “Hassan Hattab,” will send, to Jordan, a delegation consisting of former heads of the Salafist Group and the former founders of the armed organization in Algeria, in the coming weeks to meet with Sheikh “Abu Assim El Maqdisi.” The latter had already sent a letter to that effect, in which they asked him more details and explanations of the contents of his recent letter relating to deviations of armed groups in Algeria.

The purpose of this meeting with the spiritual leader “El Maqdisi” is to try to convince the terrorist groups in Algeria to stop their terrorist activities which have nothing to do with Islam, and that the jihadist ideology adopted by Droukdal and his men has nothing to do with the Jihad. An ideology of "Khawaridj" or (Kharijite) adopted on behalf of El Qaeda, which deviates from the first Salafist ideology adopted by the former leaders of the organization.

These terrorist activities of the organization against innocents have caused great harm to Islam and Muslims, as these activities are committed in the name of Islam, the religion that bans all forms of violence. Former Salafist felt under an obligation to try to do something to liberate their minds and position themselves towards these criminal acts committed in Algeria.

The leaders of the organization for Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), represented by the former Emir of the Salafist Group and its founder, Abu Hamza, alias Hassan Hattab and Cherif Said alias Abu Zakaria, member of council of elders, and Khettabi Mourad, alias Abu Omar Abdel Bir, requested the meeting of the spiritual head “Abu Assim Mohamed El Maqdisi.”

These leaders would be doing the final preparations for this meeting with the Sheikh, in Jordan, in order to halt the deterioration of the situation in Algeria following the terrorist operations perpetrated by the organization of the “Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat” and the blood shedding of Algerians.

“We'd like to meet you to put in the picture the deteriorating of the situation in Algeria following the massacres committed against children, women and the elderly”

The leaders of the Salafist group, in their letter to Sheikh El Maqdisi, welcomed the letter that this latter had recently written under the title “tebri'at eddhi'ma” (exoneration), which was published in Ennahar and in which El Maqdissi had explained the conditions of Jihad which they do not meet.
  • The latter had called on the elements of the organization of Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat to stop their activities against their brothers. He also stood out from the use of his fetwas by these elements in order to give legitimacy to their terrorist acts in Algeria.

“After reading your message entitled ‘tebri'at eddhi'ma’, dated 2 Rabie Thani 1430 Hijra, we would like to thank you for your efforts” they said in their letter to Sheikh El Maqdisi. These latter asked him to explain and clarify in detail the content of his message concerning what is happening in Algeria and considered as Jihad.

The Salafist group leaders in their letter to El Maqdisi also raised the case of kidnappings committed by terrorist groups against foreign tourists and relatives of businessmen in order to ask for ransom. The money is then used in their so-called Jihad.
