16 Harraga intercepted off Annaba

ALGER- Seize Algerian Harragas (candidates for illegal immigration) to Europe, including several minors, were intercepted Wednesday off Annaba (600 km east of Algiers), said the Coast Guard

•      These Harragas were arrested on board an artisanal boat around 01:00 am (00:00 GMT) while attempting to cross the Mediterranean, according to these sources.
  
       Since early June, a hundred illegal immigrants were intercepted off Annaba, said the same sources.
  
      The authorities have decided to sanction illegal immigration by creating a crime of “illegal exit of the national territory.”
  
      Candidates for illegal immigration seem to benefit since the beginning of summer weather conditions and calm seas to try to cross the Mediterranean.
